Net-zero Agricultural Campus
Description:
A net-zero agricultural campus designed as a contemporary model for integrated farming, living, and processing. The project brings together advanced agricultural infrastructure and residential functions within a single, cohesive layout that prioritizes efficiency, resilience, and long-term sustainability.
At the core of the design is a stepwell-inspired farming system that descends two levels below ground. This terraced landscape adapts principles of hill agriculture to flat terrain, enabling controlled irrigation, soil retention, and gravity-fed water distribution. At the lowest level, a central water tank collects harvested and recycled water, supported by an on-site purification and filtration system that visibly integrates water infrastructure into daily farm operations.
Climate-controlled greenhouses and a modern cattle house are designed with hygienic, efficient planning and clear operational zoning. The residential and operational block integrates segregation and packaging facilities with storage, utilities, and compact staff housing, while private living spaces maintain visual connection to the farm through shaded porches and open planning.
Solar panels integrated across roofs, pergolas, and shaded structures power the entire campus, achieving net-zero energy performance. Green roofs, planted terraces, and monsoon-resilient systems reinforce the project’s ecological intent. The result is a forward-looking agricultural campus that reframes farming as a technologically advanced, self-sufficient, and dignified form of production infrastructure.
